Income taxes
Taxes on income can be divided into ordinary income and capital gains. The first includes salaries, profits out of various businesses or invested funds. The capital gains tax rate is lower than the ordinary income, since the congress prefers capital investment.
Here are the six tax brackets for ordinary income, as of 2006.
